As exciting as this time of year is, it's sometimes very difficult to find inexpensive activities to make the best out of the fall season! Let's go through a few ideas that we guarantee a fun day while preserving your budget.
Let's get started!
Start journaling.
Journaling is a really good tool to reconnect with yourself but also keep memories. You can use your journal to keep tickets, wrappings, and core memories. You can also, write something you're grateful for everyday. Over the years, I've found that journaling is a really helpful tool to keep my mental health in check and also store my memories. I love, on a rainy fall afternoon, print pictures, gather my tickets, etc. and fill in my journal with all these core memories.
Declutter a room and /or your closet.
I am a big Vinted fan. For the past few years I've been really trying to downsize my closet and get closer to having a capsule wardrobe. I have also just started working so my old clothes had to go to make room for more corporate wear items. I feel like decluttering is also helping with felling better and more relaxed as you don't have to see a big pile of clothes everywhere you look or a messy overflowing closet. The plus side, you can get money from your old clothes of you choose to sell them on second-hand platforms or you can donate them so that people in need can get a use out of your old clothes. Lately, I've also been decluttering my house to get rid of the unnecessary things and organize my stuff a lot more, and it's been a game-changer.
Pick conkers, acorns, pinecones and use them in crafts and decor.
One of my favorite things to during fall, is go on walk and look at all the beautiful colors in the trees, the fallen leaves on the ground and pick all the conkers. This girlie loves a good walk in the forest or in a parc on a Sunday. There is one parc I particularly enjoy going to near Paris is the Parc de Saint-Cloud. There are such different areas in this parc, a few very cute restaurants/bars and many walks possible. It is very family friendly and quite calm to espace the chaos of the city.
These nature walks are really good either with friends or family or even on your own, find a good podcast to listen to and enjoy your stroll. Lately I've been loving, Keep it Real with Allie Schnacky (more faith based) and The Really Good Podcast (Bobbi Althoff).
Play a broad game (with friends).
Another great way to spend the weekend is by playing board games with your friends. One of the things that my roommate and I really like to do is crack up a nice film or TV show in the background, light a candle and play a board game. This activity is very budget friendly and also a lot of fun. Playing board games can be very relaxing but also entertaining. Our favorites games to play are : heads up, monopoly, what do you meme, miniville, uno, charades, etc. Recently, we decided we wanted to learn how to play chess so I just bought a chess game.
Get in touch with someone you don't see often.
Seeing friends or family members is also a very good way of spending this season. Go for a walk and catchup with people or go grab a coffee/tea. If you're feeling like going out, how about just calling a friend/family member to see how they are doing.
Have a duvet day and binge watch a new series.
Is there anything better than having a day under the duvet with a candle burning, a cup of tea or hot chocolate, a really good TV show and the rain in featuring. My favorite shows to binge watch on a rainy day are The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, Suits. This season I started Gilmore Girls and so far I'm loving it! Another classic is rewatching the Harry Potter films or the Twilight saga.

Let's have fun this fall/winter season without going broke!
xoxo, Alicia.
